Amazing resolution, clean bass and it is a little shouty but a quick eq setting sorts it out ( I used the EqualizerAPO and Poweramp on my android). I've never had earbuds that perform better than these as far as audio quality goes. The touch controls are decent but take some getting used to, some of them just never work. The noise cancelling is amazing and the talk-thru and ambient aware modes work great. Phone calls sound great on both ends when used with my Pixel. You can't find another pair of earbuds under $200 that compete with the audio quality of these guys. I was shocked to find them on sale for less than fifty bucks on the AKG website but this also caused my expectations to be pretty low considering the competitors to be in the hundreds of dollars. If they simply worked at all I would have been happy lol. Well the hype was in fact real and not even just real, even better than I was expecting. The sound quality is without a doubt vastly superior to competitors like XM4'S, Airpods, Galaxy Buds, etc across all frequency ranges. It's not even close.. They also take very well to EQ and the accompanying app makes this very easy so people from all walks of life and lovers of any genre will be very satisfied. The feature set and functionality is where I saw reviews have some unfavorable things to say before making my purchase. However, this is the area I was mostly presently surprised because I already knew the sound would be satisfactory but set all my other expectations low because of said reviews. Some reported sub par noise cancelling. As a previous Sony XM4 owner I can confidently say that ANC is just as effective from both a listening standpoint and talking standpoint. I conducted various tests in noisy environments such as busy streets, cutting grass, high winds and performance exceeded expectations and was on par easily with much more expensive alternatives. The Talk Through passive mode worked with no issues and I could hear everything around me just fine as well. The only two critiques I have were two others had as well but I feel as if others were not being clear enough about what they meant giving the product a worse rap than deserved. One in that people had trouble connecting to the ear buds from their devices. It's not at all that it has issues or takes time actually connecting between devices, it just simply takes a few moments to appear in the AKG app. But they connect every time very quickly and just fine. The other reported issue is that the buds would decharge mysteriously in the case. This is simply due to the case not properly closing depending on which ear tip wing design you use. As long as you double check that the case is indeed fully closed then you will have no charging issues. I could not be more happier with my purchase and at less than fifty bucks it's really an absolute no brainer. If I were absolutely forced to make a suggestion of something to be seen in future releases it would be the support of higher quality Bluetooth codecs such as apt-x or LDAC. But again, the sound quality is already so much better than competing models that actually do support those codecs that I hate to even mention it. So yeah if you're considering these, consider no longer.
